Jessie Alvarez What inspired me to be a part of the ACHRDI committee is that I was born in KCK and care about making this city a better place to live, work, and raise a family.  As a member of the ACHRDI, I hope to improve mutual understanding between the many diverse cultures living in KCK and protect civil rights for everyone.
Wendy Baker What inspired me to be a part of the ACHRDI committee is my hope to influence changes to make our community a safe and supportive network for the disabled who live in our area. My daughter Jessica lives in the community. She is my inspiration. My role is to provide a voice for the disabled and share information on resources and events that may be of interest.

James Echols What inspired me to be a part of the ACHRDI committee is because I have over 40 years experience in human relations work, both as an advisor and facilitator. I currently serve as a Chief Executive Officer of a public relations firm which specializes in human relations training & staff development in St. Louis, Kansas City, Topeka, Wichita & Oklahoma City. I can appreciate the rich cultural, ethnic and racial diversity with Wyandotte County, and I feel that I can contribute to intergroup harmony within our community.

Winfred Manning What inspired me to be a part of the ACHRDI committee was that I am a native of Kansas City, KS and a 1977 Graduate of Sumner High School. I am a retired KCK Firefighter who currently serves on the Executive Board of the International Association of Firefighters Local 64 as Director of Community/Minority Affairs. I am also a local musician serving throughout the metropolitan area. As a member of the ACHRDI, I would like to be a voice for the community on related issues.

Valorie Wells Fenton What inspired me to be a part of the ACHRDI committee was when I read the general invitation in the UG newsletter, I realized that I have the education and life experiences the UG was looking for as well as the time to give back to my neighbors. I hope to be a voice of the "forgotten" or "overlooked" residents of the Rosedale Neighborhoods. As an active member of the RDA as well as Spring Valley Neighborhood, I will speak up for the eastern most side of Wyandotte County, and in particular the aging, differently-abled, and minority citizens of my area. I am grateful for Commissioner Murguia's ongoing vote of confidence in my dedication to District 3.
