Lt. Kelli Bailiff, Public Information Officer
710 Nth 7th Street
Welcome to the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office Media Relations Unit. Our section serves as the center for public and media communications by disseminating information through the news media and publications.
The Public Information Officer (PIO) is the primary contact for the news media. The PIO prepares news releases and coordinates print and broadcast coverage of agency events. The PIO also acts as the liaison with the media at crime scenes and other activities that generate media interest.
The Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to providing the public with information about who we are, what we do, why we do it, and how we do it. This information is simple for those in law enforcement to understand however we would also like the public to have these understandings through effective communications.
The PIO is responsible for gathering and distributing news to media outlets throughout the greater Kansas City area as well as across the State of Kansas, and the United States. These deputies respond to questions about the many Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office public events, programs, public issues, and emergency events.
