The Noxious Weed division of Parks and Recreation provides Wyandotte County residents the opportunity to purchase Noxious Weeds herbicides at a discounted rate.

Chemicals are sold on Thursdays at the Noxious Weed Chemical Sales building located at Wyandotte County Lake Park, 91st and Leavenworth Road. Follow 91st Street into the park and when you see the lake, you are at a Y in the road. Go left over the bridge and left again into the parking lot. The Noxious Weed building is the building to the back of the parking lot.  Chemical sales begin in early spring. Operation hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm with a one hour lunch break for staff from noon to 1:00 pm.

The Noxious Weeds Department with aide from a private contractor is responsible for the mowing of vacant and or abandon lots within Wyandotte County. These lots must meet a certain criteria for mowing by this department. Mowing of these lots is determined by the yearly growing season of April through October annually. Weather permitting cuttings may vary from 3 to 5 times per lot.
