GENERAL ADVANCE INFORMATION
In addition to going to the polls on Election Day, all Kansans are eligible to vote an Advance Ballot. Your options include:
VOTE IN PERSON
at the Election Office beginning up to 20 days prior to an election and ending at noon on Monday before the election.
OR
VOTE BY MAIL
Options include:
A registered voter may apply for an advance ballot for each election. NOTE: A separate form must be completed for each individual voter and each election.
If you have a permanent disability or illness, you may apply for permanent advance voter status. Call the Election Office to obtain an Application for Permanent Advance Voting Status.
Advance Voting Applications:
Select and print the Application for Advance Voting Ballot . You must answer all the questions and sign the form in order to receive a ballot. You can fax or mail it to the Election Office. Ballots will be mailed beginning 20 days prior to each election. Ballots must be received in the Election Office no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. Your vote will not be counted if you leave your ballot at a polling place.

INFORMATION ON MARKING YOUR BALLOT
IMPORTANT: Read and follow the instructions that come with your ballot.
Make sure you completely darken in the ovals on the ballot.
Under each race on the ballot, it will state how many candidates you can vote for, for that race.
If you make a mistake on your ballot, contact the Election Office for another ballot.
After you mark your ballot, insert it in the Ballot envelope and seal.
Sign your name and address on the outside of the Ballot Envelope where indicated.
YOUR BALLOT WILL NOT BE COUNTED IF THE ADDRESS IS MISSING AND/OR THE AFFIDAVIT IS NOT SIGNED BY THE VOTER.
If you require assistance in marking your ballot, the person assisting you must also sign the Affidavit of Assistance on the back of the ballot envelope.
Insert your signed ballot envelope into the self-addressed return envelope, seal and mail. Be sure to place the correct amount of postage on your return envelope.
You may also deliver the ballot to the Election Office.
All ballots must be received in the Election Office no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

ADVANCE VOTING SAFEGUARDS
MAKE SURE YOUR VOTE COUNTS:
Request an advance ballot early to ensure sufficient time for mailing both the Application for Advance Voting Ballot and mailing a ballot.
Vote the ballot yourself. Do not let another person tell you how you should vote.
If you do require assistance in marking your ballot, be certain that the person assisting you can be trusted and is NOT with a political campaign, your employer, agent of employer, or officer or agent of a union to which you are a member.
The person who assisted you in voting must sign the Affidavit of Assistance on the back of the ballot envelope.
Don't forget to SIGN AND WRITE YOUR ADDRESS where indicated on the outside of the ballot envelope.
Your ballot will NOT COUNT if your signature and address are missing.
If mailing your ballot, make sure to allow sufficient time for the ballot to arrive in the Election Office on or before Election Day.
Ballots received after 7:00 p.m. Election Day will not be counted.
You may also deliver the ballot sealed in your completed Ballot Envelope to the Election Office no later than 7:00 p.m. Election Day.
