Turner School District Mail Ballot Election - October 22, 2013  


Unified school district No. 202 is conducting a mail ballot election on October 22, 2013. For more information on how mail ballot elections are conducted, see our mail ballot election page. Shall the following be adopted?

Shall Unified School District No. 202, Wyandotte County, Kansas (Turner), issue general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $19,500,000, to improve sites, to acquire, construct, equip, furnish, repair, remodel and make additions to buildings used for school district purposes, including construction of a new Oak Grove Elementary School, district-wide safety and security improvements, construction of a new cafeteria/multipurpose room at Junction Elementary School, acquire and install upgraded computer and communications technology and make all other necessary appurtenances and improvements related thereto, and to pay fees and expenses related thereto; all pursuant to the provisions of K.S.A. 10-101 et seq.; K.S.A. 25-431 et seq.; K.S.A. 25-2018(f); K.S.A. 72-6761; and K.S.A. 75-2315 et seq.?  

Getting a ballot

All active registered voters in USD 202 who are registered to vote on or before September 23, 2013 will automatically receive a ballot in the mail. If you register after September 23, but before the registration deadline on October 1, you will need to apply for a ballot using the application for replacement mail ballot form. The form must be submitted no later than October 18, 2013. Click here for the form


Election Calendar

September 7, 2013 - Begin mailing ballots to military personnel and overseas civilians

September 23, 2013 - All USD 202 residents registered to vote on or before today will automatically receive a ballot by mail approximately 20 days before Election Day.

October 1, 2013 - Last day to register to vote before election. If you register after Sept. 23, but before Oct. 1, you will need to apply for a ballot. One will not be mailed to you automatically.

October 2, 2013 - Ballots delivered to post office for initial mailing.

October 18, 2013 - Last day to mail replacement ballots. 

October 22, 2013 - Election Day: Ballots must be returned to the election office by noon.
