Code Enforcement is 1 of 7divisions located in the NRC. Code Enforcement is responsible for enforcing city ordinances related to:

  • Housing
  • Zoning
  • Signs
  • Litter
  • Illegal Dumping

Code Violations

  • Weeds
  • Premise Parking
  • Animal Zoning Violations
  • Issuing citations when residents and
  • business owners fail to correct violations

The Code Enforcement's ultimate goal is improving the quality of life for citizens as well as beautifying the City’s streets, business corridors, and neighborhoods.

Code Enforcement Officers are in contact with City residents and business owners on a daily basis. The program responds to citizen requests, conducts proactive inspections and special projects, and provides education on code enforcement. Our mission is to enhance the level of public safety and city aesthetics through effective enforcement of city ordinances and to ensure due process for each citizen of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas.
