Windmills The Unified Government is currently collaborating with its local utility, the Board of Public Utilities, to become a Green Community. This vision of building a cleaner and more energy efficient community for our citizens is part of the city’s master plan, which was adopted in 2007.

Beginning In 2010, with the aid of stimulus funding, the UG plans to implement new initiatives, policies, and technologies that will assist in our collective efforts to effectively transform our local economy, our jobs, our neighborhoods, our transportation, our infrastructure, and our resources into a more energy efficient and sustainable community.

The programs and initiatives listed below have been submitted to the US Department of Energy for final approval. However, we will periodically post updates on this website about funding and resources available for the various Sustainability Initiatives and programs for our citizens. If you’re interested in receiving updated information, please provide us with your contact information by selecting the "Green the Dotte Infomation" link below.
