Section 42 (LIHTC) Pre-application
A pre-application meeting with the Developer
and UG is required prior to submittal of an
an application in an effort to ensure the Developer
is informed of the UG 42 tax credit policy and what
is required to advance the application to the
Local Review Committe.

Sect. 42 Review Criteria
The Unified Government recognizes that the Housing Tax Credit Program, established in the Tax Reform Act of 1986, Section 42 (m), is an important tool.
The Kansas Housing Resources Corporation’s (KHRC) state allocation plan requires a local review process prior to its consideration of housing tax credit proposals. The KHRC will not consider an application for housing tax credits “without a resolution from the local governing body stating that it is aware of and approves the housing development”.
The Unified Government has established selection criteria which are appropriate to local conditions and priorities.
