Mayor/CEO Mark R. Holland
Mark R. Holland was elected April 2, 2013 as the 28th Mayor of the City of Kansas City, Kansas and the 3rd Mayor/CEO of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas (UG). He is currently serving his first four-year term. His career began with the UG as a member of the Board of Commissioners, elected At-Large District 1 in 2007 and re-elected in 2011.
Born in 1969 at Bethany Hospital, Mark is a fourth generation Wyandotte Countian and a third generation United Methodist Clergy in KCK. With his father a pastor and his mother a school teacher, Mark grew up with strong faith and educational values as well as a deep commitment to community. He has served as the Senior Pastor at Trinity Community Church, a United Methodist Congregation in Kansas City, Kansas since 1999. Mark has a passion for his family, church, and improving the quality of life of all residents in Wyandotte County.
Mark is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas Texas where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy in 1991. He was ordained in the United Methodist Church in 1994. In 1997, he graduated from Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado where he received his Masters of Divinity. He also attended Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Missouri where he received a Doctor of Ministry degree in 2009.

Honors and awards include 2009 Emanuel Cleaver II Community Service Award; 2007 Wyandotte West, Best of the West, “Best Clergy”; and 2005 Rotary International Paul Harris Award.
Mark is married to Julie Solomon and they have four children: Daniel, Gabriel, Luke, and Esther.
