Police Tele-sever Center
Police Report Desk
Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The purpose of the Desk is to provide a convenient location for people to report crimes. Police reports can be taken either over the telephone, or as walk-in reports. See the below categories for a listing of reports that can be taken over the telephone.
The following police reports can be taken over the telephone:
Theft Reports – certain stipulations apply
Theft of Lost or Misplaced Property
Telephone Harassment or Annoying Telephone Calls
Identity Theft
Burglary from Vehicle
Criminal Damage to Property
Walk-in Reports at the Report Desk
There are no restrictions on the type of police report walked into the Report Desk. However, in the case of motor vehicle accident reports, it is preferred that both persons that were involved in the accident be present at the same time. Injury accidents are not taken at the Report Desk. An officer will be sent to the scene of such occurrences.
For assistance in emergency situations and crimes in progress dial 911. For police assistance in non-life threatening situations, call (913) 596-3000.
Your Help Needed
When requesting services for non-emergency/non-life threatening situations, we ask for your patience in waiting for the arrival of a police officer, as emergency calls have priority over non-emergency calls. The officer will respond to your call as soon as possible.
