COMPASS Project - finance
The COMPASS project will replace the current Cayenta Financials system with a new ERP application from Lawson Software and a new budget system, TM1. The project kicked off in February 2008, and will have a three phase rollout. The TM1 budget will go live in March 2008, and will be utilized for the 2009 Operations budget. The core Lawson modules (Financials, Human Capital Management and Procurement) are projected to go live at the end of 2008/early 2009, with the remaining new functionality projected to go-live in February/March 2009. The COMPASS project will help streamline business processes, eliminate duplication of data entry, and automate current paper-based processes, and will provide more timely information to the Unified Government.
Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) Upgrade
The State of Kansas is upgrading all CAMA systems to the new Orion product. As a state run project, it requires a local project manager to ensure the successful implementation of this new system. The primary stakeholder of the CAMA upgrade is the County Appraiser.
Project Server Architecture for the Unified Government
Under the vision and direction of the CIO, the Unified Government Network Division will implement a 3-tier Microsoft Office Project Server architecture. Office Project Server 2007 and its clients will enable the Unified Government to effectively manage projects and resources across the organization. Its utilization within the Unified Government will enable team coordination, standardization of project and program management methodology, and centralized resource management. Project Server provides a centralized repository of project information so that organizations can analyze, manage, and report across the enterprise.
The capabilities of Office Project Server 2007 are exposed through its clients: Office Project Professional 2007, Outlook 2007, and Office Project Web.
*These are just some of the projects that when completed will make the work load for employees of the Unified Government more efficient and cost saving.
