The purchase of computer equipment has a long-term impact on the business operations within a department and organization as a whole.

The standards are designed to support the Unified Governments administrative initiatives and also to identify the preferred computer equipment to purchase, which will have the longest useful life. The following equipment standards are to be used in the purchase of computer equipment for the administration.
