The Community DevelopmentDepartment  coordinates programs funded through federal and state grants to assist in creating a viable urban community for the neediest persons in our City while reducing poverty, embracing diversity, assisting with economic development, and improving the overall quality of life. The Department of Housing and Urban Redevelopment consists of two (2) divisions:

• Development Administration
• Housing & Community Development

Through cooperative partnerships with the public and private sectors, the Department oversees the divisions of Housing and Community Development, which are dedicated to giving low-income residents access to the region’s economic growth and prosperity.
