Appraiser’s Office Temporary Closure

Due to ongoing concerns in relation to Covid-19, the Wyandotte Appraiser’s Office will be closed to the public effective March 23rd, and until further notice.

The Informal real estate appeal deadline has expired.  The deadline to file a 2020 Informal appeal for commercial and residential real estate was March 30th, 2020. No extension to file past this statutory deadline date has been granted.

The 2020 real estate values were released to the public on February 28th, 2020, and property owners were given 30-days to submit an appeal.
The next opportunity to appeal your 2020 value and/or classification is when the first half taxes become due in December.  See information here on the Payment Under Protest process.

Although the deadline has passed to submit an Informal appeal. If you previously submitted an appeal application, you can still upload supporting evidence here, by using the online Document Upload service.

In addition, Personal Property Worksheets/Renditions can still be submitted to our office via email or by mail.

For Appraiser’s Office related assistance, please call (913) 573-8400 and leave a message.  Be aware that response times may be delayed due to limited and/or remote staffing, but we will try to return calls and provide assistance as quickly as possible.

We understand these changes are an inconvenience, but the health and safety of our team members and the community is our greatest concern.

For more information concerning COVID-19, visit the UG’s website at

On behalf of the Appraiser’s Office Staff, we wish you and your family health and safety during this difficult time.

The Appraiser's Office discovers, inspects, evaluates and assigns a market or appraised value and classification to all taxable and exempt property in the County and otherwise implements all State laws, including administrative rules and regulations set by the Kansas Department of Revenue, Property Valuation Division. The resulting taxable assessed values become the total base of the County. The Appraiser's Office defends those values when they are appealed and will recommend adjustment, if necessary. The County Appraiser also administers all matters relating to the exemption of property and the filing of tax grievances by taxpayers.
