Street Level Image Verification Project – Retakes to begin November 16th:

The Wyandotte County Appraiser’s Office had contracted with Tyler Technologies, Inc. and Cyclomedia to provide high-resolution street level images of the exterior of improved properties in the county, as well as verify situs addresses on file last fall.   This project began in October 2019 and was set to conclude by the end of December 2019. After quality control of images were conducted by both Tyler Technology and Appraiser’s Office staff, re-capture  of some of the images in various areas will occur throughout the county. The initial re-captures were to occur in march 2020, but due to COVID-19, were postponed.  Therefore, the reschedule will begin the week of November 16th, 2020 and should only take 7-9 days, weather permitting.
Kansas law requires counties to update property information at least once every six years in an effort to maintain accurate data. Correct up-to-date property information, including photographs, is crucial not only to the Appraiser’s Office but will also provide benefits to the taxpayers of Wyandotte County, along with assisting other Unified Government departments in their day-to-day operations.  The last street level image project took place in 2013.  The attached flyer, which was published  during the initial image capture.  If you have questions or concerns, please contact Wyandotte County Appraiser’s Office at (913) 573-8400.

Appraiser’s Office Re-opening

To protect the health and wellness of visitors and employees, public buildings will re-open with restrictions beginning Monday, June 8th
Due to the need for social distancing, limits to the number of visitors that can access the building will be monitored by security.  Visitors will also be required to have their temperatures taken before being admitted. No person with symptoms, or a fever, will be allowed to enter the building.  Visitors are also required to wear masks or face coverings when entering a public building.

We understand these changes are an inconvenience, but the health and safety of our team members and the community is our greatest concern.

Our office can also be reached via the phone at (913) 573-8400 or by emailing us at
On behalf of the Appraiser’s Office Staff, we wish you and your family health and safety during this difficult time.

The Appraiser's Office discovers, inspects, evaluates and assigns a market or appraised value and classification to all taxable and exempt property in the County and otherwise implements all State laws, including administrative rules and regulations set by the Kansas Department of Revenue, Property Valuation Division. The resulting taxable assessed values become the total base of the County. The Appraiser's Office defends those values when they are appealed and will recommend adjustment, if necessary. The County Appraiser also administers all matters relating to the exemption of property and the filing of tax grievances by taxpayers.
