The Unified Government’s Board of Park Commission is comprised of an (11) member governing body.

The Park & Recreation Commission plays an important, active role in the planning and development process for parks in Wyandotte County. It serves in an advisory role regarding the activities of the Parks and Recreation Department. These activities include but are not limited to making recommendations on park development, long term planning initiatives for park needs and recreation department programs.

The TURF (T-Bones Uncommitted Recreation Fund) Board was established in 2004 as an agreement to donate a portion of ticket sales to the Unified Government for Park and Recreation purposed. The board for this fund meets twice a year.
