Andrew Davis is the 8th District Commissioner of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/ Kansas City, Kansas. The 8th District is in North Central Kansas City, Kansas and includes notable institutions like the main Kansas City, Kansas Community College (KCKCC) campus, the KCKCC Technical Education Center, F.L. Schlagle High School, Washington High School, Sunset Hills Church, Eisenhower Middle School, Gloria Willis Middle School and the former site of the Indian Springs Mall.

Commissioner Davis was sworn into office on December 13th, 2021. As the 8th District Commissioner, he is primarily responsible for representing the interest of 8th District residents and ensuring their needs are met as they pertain to the Unified Government. Commissioner Davis plans to improve the lives of all who live in Wyandotte County by bringing transparency, innovation, and to the Unified Government.

Community Involvement

Being active in the community is a high priority and longstanding commitment of Commissioner Davis, which has taken many forms since being inaugurated. Some examples include funding the first ever free spay and neuter clinic in Kansas City, KS, co-planning and funding a Summer Job & Opportunity fair for all teens in Wyandotte County with Young Women on the Move and serving on the Steering Committee for Raising Wyco which focuses on childcare access in Wyandotte County.

Education

  • University of Kansas – Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Religious Studies, minor in African / African-American Studies.
  • University of Kansas – Master’s in Public Administration with an emphasis in Local Government Management. 2022 Class Co-President.

Favorite thing about Wyandotte County

There’s a lot of options to choose from, our food, the diversity of culture and the rich history and uniqueness of our community. However, my favorite thing about Wyandotte County is our collective passion to make our community better every day. 

Personal

Commissioner Davis is married to his college sweetheart Andrea. They spend a lot of time supporting local businesses and investing in their neighborhood in the 8th district.
