Neighborhoods are the building blocks that lead to a stronger, healthier, viable city.

The concept of the Neighborhood Resource Center (NRC) was to create a focal point for residents to address and confront problems and issues facing their neighborhoods and as well as to provide an easy access to all UG neighborhood services and initiatives.

Objectives

  • Create a place where staff can work together on the neighborhood's issues.

  • Provide neighborhood leaders and representatives with information and assistance to work with the Unified Government staff.

  • Develop an innovative and unified leadership for the UG's neighborhood services and initiatives.

Department Head

The Neighborhood Resource Center (NRC) opened in June 1999 with collaboration and support from neighborhood groups and organizations. Community Policing and the Police Report Desk are divisions of the Kansas City, KS Police Department but have offices located next door to the NRC.
