We're recruiting lifeguards for Parkwood Pool starting on Memorial Day and running through August 2023. We have partnered with Midwest Pool Management to operate the pool for the 2023 summer season. You can find their application here:

Competitive Pay

Pay for lifeguards will start at $15.00/hour and candidates are also eligible for free lifeguard certification classes to be offered this spring.

We are also hiring an assistant pool manager and pool manager for $17.00/hour and $18.00/hour, respectively.

How do I apply?

How old do I have to be to apply?

You must be at least 15 years old to work.

Do I have to be a resident to apply to be a lifeguard?

No, as a seasonal position, you are not required to be a Wyandotte County resident to apply to be a lifeguard, assistant pool manager or pool manager.

Do I have to be certified as a lifeguard to apply?

No! You will need to be a strong swimmer but we will help eligible candidates with lifeguard certification. More details on the timing is forthcoming.

I applied to be a lifeguard in the past. Can I apply again?

Yes! We welcome past employees in good standing to join our Parks & Recreation Department for Summer 2022. We also welcome past applicants to re-apply for the 2022 season. With great pay and summer bonuses, it will be a summer to remember.

How long is the summer season?

Our summer season at Parkwood Pool starts Memorial Day Weekend and typically runs until USD 500 returns to school. However, if staffing is available, the Pool may remain open until Labor Day weekend.
