CLIA accredited laboratory providing support services for clinics within the Health Department and limited testing to the general public. All tests are performed at accredited laboratories.

 

Services Provided include:

 

General Public:

  • Open Access Lab: For a list of tests and pricing. Prepayment is required.

  • DNA for paternity: Call 1 (800) 362-2368 to make an appointment. We are a collection site only.

  • Gonorrhea & Chlamydia Testing: Screening for testing is done in Room 104.

  • HIV Screen: Go to Room 104. No exam required.

  • Syphilis Screen: Go to Room 104. No exam required.

  • Titers for immunity: See link above for pricing information, all titers require pre-payment.

    • Hepatitis B

    • Mumps

    • Rubella (German or 3-day measles)

    • Rubeola (Measles)

    • Varicella Zoster (Chicken Pox)

  • Tuberculosis Skin Tests: Performed on a walk-in basis. Call 913-573-8855 for current pricing. Pre-payment is required.

  • Water Tests for fecal contamination: Call Environmental Health (913) 573-6705.

 
 

Are appointments necessary?

Not for any lab walk-in patients, or for exams through the STD clinic. However, for Family Planning patients an appointment is necessary and can usually be scheduled between (24) and (48) hours from the time of the appointment call. DNA testing is ONLY scheduled through calling DNA Diagnostics at 1 (800) 362-2368.

 

Is there a fee?

For all lab walk-in patients, please see Open Access Lab. For patients of other clinics there is a nominal fee charged for most personal health services. Some fees are based on a sliding scale fee, while others have a set fee.

 

Eligibility Requirements to Receive Service include:

No eligibility requirements for services available to the general public or "self pay" clients. All other services must meet eligibility requirements of the clinic requesting the lab tests.

 

Where can I send my used needles?

Call 1 (800) 237-3604 or go to MarketLabInc.com and order “Mail Away Sharps Containers” .U.S postage and destruction are pre-paid. Containers include tracking slip and confirmation of destruction and they are U.S. government approved. Remove the syringes and discard the needles.
