In preparation for Opening Day of Fishing in Wyandotte County, the public is invited to view the delivery of 6,500 pounds of Rainbow Trout, Thursday, February 28, at 2:00 p.m. at the marina in Wyandotte County Lake Park.
The gates at Wyandotte County Lake and Pierson Park will open Saturday, March 2, at 6:00 a.m. to kick off the fishing season. Wyandotte County Lake will be stocked with Rainbow Trout and Channel Catfish; Pierson is stocked with Channel Catfish. Additional shipments of fish will arrive in March after opening day for a total of 16,000 pounds of trout and 17,500 pounds of channel catfish.
A Unified Government fishing permit and a Kansas Fishing License is required for Kansas residents age 16 and older or 64 and younger. All non-residents 16 and older are required to have the permit and the Kansas License. The permit and license can be purchased at the following locations: Wal-Mart on Parallel and in Bonner Springs, Cabela’s and Minnesota Bait.

Lake hours are 6:00 am to midnight opening day to November 30. Boats require a Wyandotte County Boat Permit and they need to be off the lake by 11:00 pm. Please visit our web site www.wycokck.org/parks for more fishing and boating information.
