Website Awards
The Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas strives to provide a website that is informative, accurate, and promotes an open government. In doing so, the Unified Government has earned the following awards for its public website.
| Unified Government - 2011 Sunny Award Winner -
The Sunny Award is presented by the Editors of Sunshine Review to honor the most transparent government websites in the nation. The UG scored an "A-" transparency grade on Sunshine Review's Transparency Checklist. Sunshine Review evaluated over 5,000 government websites, including 3,140 counties, 805 cities, and 1,560 school districts.
The Unified Government also received an “A-“ transparency grade on the checklist in 2011 and 2012. |
| Unified Government - 2015 Outstanding Website Category –Government.
Marketing Association’s 2015 WebAwards recognizes all organizations and individuals involved in the process of developing web sites for organizations, companies and the government |
| Unified Government - 2018 Outstanding Website Category –Government.
The Unified Government recently won Outstanding Website for 2018 for its development efforts by the Web Marketing Association. This is the second time the UG website has won this award. The website was designed and launched with in-house talent led by Edwin Birch and Irene Mansfield. Since launch of the newly re-designed website, user numbers have increased. From January-August 2017 we had 2.2-million users. From January-August 2018 we had 3.2-million users. That’s an increase of 1-million views. |
