Barton P. Cohen Research Library & Archives

The Barton P. Cohen Research Library is an excellent source for doing Genealogy research in Wyandotte County. We have indexes that include county obituaries, wills, tax rolls, marriage licenses, and other biographical information. In addition, we have thousands of historical photographs that can be scanned for a fee. Our non-circulating library contains books, journals, newspapers, yearbooks, surnames files and many other resources that may be helpful in researching a slice of Wyandotte County history.

Our marriage licenses are dated 1867-1920, and our newspapers on microfilm go as far back as the 1860s. We also have many cemetery records that can be very useful when trying to find a date of death or an obituary. Other resources include city directories/telephone books from 1887-current, historic maps and state census records (microfilm).
