The Neighborhood Resource Center (NRC) opened in June 1999 in collaboration and support from neighborhood groups and organizations throughout the community. Community Policing and the Police Report Desk are divisions of the Kansas City, KS Police Department, but have offices located nextdoor to the NRC. Operation Brightside is a division under the Public Works Department and is located at the Fleet Center at 5033 State Avenue.

The concept of the NRC was to create a focal point for residents to address and confront problems and issues facing their neighborhoods and as well as to provide an easy access to all UG neighborhood services and initiatives. Our main objectives are to:

  • Create a place where staff can work together on the neighborhoods issues.
  • Provide neighborhood leaders and representatives with information and assistance to work with the Unified Government staff.
  • Develop an innovative and unified leadership for the UG's neighborhood services and initiatives.

Neighborhoods are the building blocks that lead to a stronger, healthier, viable city.

Please use the NRC E-Link portal to access information and get questions answered (24) hours a day, (7) days a week directly from the NRC computer records.
