Bridgette Cobbins was appointed as Assistant County Administrator for the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, KS, in August of 2021. Her direct reports consist of the following departments:

Bridgette Cobbins is a lifelong Wyandotte County resident and a community asset. She has served the community as a public servant for nearly 30 years, ensuring citizens can access their government through important documents and public meetings.

She has worked in various levels of government from the Police Department-Records, Police Auditor’s Office, Procurement and Contract Compliance, Land Bank Manager, Tax Levy Manager, and the UG Clerk for the past 10 years. She attended Ottawa University, where she earned a degree in Business Administration and an Executive Masters of Business Administration from Benedictine College. She completed the Kansas Certified Public Manager Program (Information Technology Executive Council) from the State of Kansas, Certified Project Manager (Public Management Center) from the University of Kansas, and Master’s County Clerk Academy (The Sanborn Institute) from Wichita State University.

Community involvement includes serving on the School Council Committee, Advisory Board member for Christ the King Catholic School, Executive Board Member for Community Housing of Wyandotte County (CHWC), and Advancement Board of The University of Kansas Medical Center and The University of Kansas Health System. She also volunteered with Lead to Read. A member of the Kansas Association of Counties (KAC), Kansas County Clerks and Election Officials Association (KCCEOA), and Association of Records Managers & Administrators (ARMA International)

Alan Howze is advancing innovation and operational improvement as Assistant County Administrator and Chief Knowledge Officer of the Unified Government of Kansas City, Kansas, and Wyandotte County. Alan leads a department of 50 with a budget of $6.5 million across four divisions. He also has oversight responsibility for several other departments, including:

Alan is a member of the senior executive team and is involved in the development and execution of the annual operating and capital budgets and policy deliberations.

In his role, he focuses his team on delivering high-quality digital services and building a modern technology infrastructure, including a new fiber network; mobile app for payments, resident requests, and vehicle renewals; cloud-first infrastructure and applications; enterprise-wide geospatial analytics; and a team to provide project management.

Before joining the Unified Government in 2016, Alan was a Fellow with the IBM Center for the Business of Government. Earlier in his career, he worked for the US Congress and served as Political Director for Governor (now Senator) Mark Warner of Virginia. Alan studied Economics and Anthropology at James Madison University and received an MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.
