Trash & Recycling Carts Pilot Program Open House

Next date: Wednesday, May 21, 2025 | 04:00 PM to 08:00 PM

A green and yellow WM recycling cart at the curb

Public Works' Solid Waste Division is excited to share a major update to residential trash and recycling services in select neighborhoods. In collaboration with Waste Management, we’re launching a Cart-Based Collection Pilot Program to test the use of uniform WM-provided carts for trash and recycling. This pilot program is designed to improve service reliability, reduce street litter, and make recycling easier and more accessible for residents.

Residents within the WM Carts Pilot Program area are invited to drop by an open house to learn more about the new cart-based trash and recycling system coming to their neighborhood. The event is come-and-go, with no formal presentation, so you can stop in anytime between 4 and 8 PM.

Staff from the Unified Government and WM will be available to answer questions, provide program materials, and show you what your new free trash and recycling carts will look like. Join us to learn what to expect and how these changes can lead to a cleaner, more efficient collection experience.

Visit the Trash & Recycling Carts Pilot Program webpage to learn more about the program and find out if you're in the pilot area.
