Make Your Home More Efficient

Home Weatherization

Weatherization is the process of making your home more resistant to cold weather by adding insulation, storm windows, and preventing leakage of cold air into your home. The U.S. Department of Energy estimates that weatherization can save households an average of $283 or more per year (2019). Locally, the Kansas Weatherization Assistance Program helps low-income households cover the cost of heating, cooling, and energy efficiency improvements - free of charge.

Income-eligible families can receive a comprehensive home energy audit, an assessment of your entire home to identify inefficiencies and safety concerns using advanced equipment. With the average home in the United States almost 40 years old, weatherizing a home to protect it from elements like the cold, wind, and rain can increase energy efficiency and lead to savings on utility bills.
