Holiday Trash & Recycling Collection Schedule

In observance of Labor Day, Waste Management will not collect residential trash and recycling in Kansas City, Kansas, on Monday, September 2, 2024.

Residential trash & recycling collection will be delayed by one day:

  • Monday Collections - Put your items out on Tuesday, September 3
  • Tuesday Collections - Place your items at the curb or street edge on Wednesday, September 4
  • Wednesday Collections - Put your items out on Thursday, September 5
  • Thursday Collections - Place your items at the curb or street edge on Friday, September 6
  • Friday Collections - Put your items out on Saturday, September 7

Holidays When Trash is Not Collected
  1. New Year’s Day
  2. Memorial Day
  3. 4th of July
  4. Labor Day
  5. Thanksgiving Day
  6. Christmas Day

On these holidays, the pickup of everyone’s trash and recycling is moved back one day unless the holiday falls on a weekend.
