Join the Unified Government Emergency Management Department for in-person or online live training sessions focusing on Severe Weather Safety and Spotter Training. These classes are guided by the National Weather Service Kansas City Meteorologists.

Attending a class, you will...

• Learn how to prepare yourself and your family for severe weather season;
• How the NWS, Emergency Managers, and media work together during severe weather;
• Understand the basics of thunderstorm meteorology;
• Learn the what, when and how to report severe weather in support of NWS Warning Operations and Emergency Management community.
