Four KCKPD Officers Honored

On November 15, 2024, the Kansas City Metropolitan Area Chiefs and Sheriffs Association held its 53rd Annual Valor Awards ceremony, which was emceed by Loren Halifax of Fox 4 News. Many brave men and women were recognized, including 4 members of the KCKPD. 

  • Gold Award Officer Garner (not pictured) for apprehending a suspect armed with a handgun assaulting a lady.
  • Gold Award Officer Chambers for apprehending a suspect armed with a rifle threatening to shoot fellow officers and citizens.
  • Silver Award Sergeant Donato for saving an infant abducted during a stolen auto vehicle pursuit.
  • Bronze Award Officer Manriquez for giving lifesaving aid to a shooting victim and apprehending the suspect

"I would like to congratulate all the officers that received awards at 53rd Annual Awards for Valor ceremony," said KCKPD Chief of Police Karl Oakman. "As president of the Kansas City Metropolitan Chiefs and Sheriffs Association, I had the honor along with Vice President, Chief Fred Farris of Gladstone, Missouri and Captain Jake Becchina of KCPD to recognize 58 officers from across the metro who demonstrated exceptional bravery and selflessness in the line of duty."
