Bridgette Cobbins Named Assistant County Administrator

Cobbins to continue her leadership of multiple departments

Today Unified Government County Administrator Doug Bach named Bridgette Cobbins, formerly the County Clerk and Interim Assistant County Administrator, as Assistant County Administrator.

“Over the past eight months, Mrs. Cobbins has demonstrated her ability to lead as we hired a new police chief, launched new programs to support the well-being of our public safety personnel, and other key initiatives along with engaging with employees and the public to address concerns,” said Doug Bach, County Administrator. “We appreciate her continued service to our community.”

A life-long Dotte, Mrs. Cobbins graduated from Wyandotte High School before completing her undergraduate degree in Business Administration at Ottawa University and Master of Business Administration at Benedictine College.

Mrs. Cobbins first joined the UG nearly 25 years ago as a Data Entry & Control Clerk at the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department. Since then, Mrs. Cobbins has held various positions with increasing levels of responsibility, including County Clerk. Since January 2021, she served as the Interim Assistant County Administrator where she has overseen multiple departments involved with our pandemic response and providing critical community services.

Mrs. Cobbins is responsible for overseeing and supporting the Area Agency on Aging, Community Corrections, Human Services, Municipal Court, the Clerk’s Office and the Administrator’s Office liaison to the Police Department.

“I’m excited about my new role within the organization. In my interim position I had the opportunity to work closely with the Mayor’s office, Commissioners, the public, department heads & staff in ways that were both rewarding and productive,” said Mrs. Cobbins. “I look forward to continuing those engagements and exploring ways to better serve our community and employees.”
