Public Works’ Environmental Services division invites Kansas City, Kansas residents to a community open house on Friday, December 13, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the newly unveiled Environmental Services Campus at 4851 Armstrong Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66102.

This event offers a unique opportunity to explore the city’s newest high-tech facility and discover how wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and flood management work together to protect public health and the environment.

The open house features:

  • Touch-a-Truck Experience: A hands-on chance for attendees of all ages to see and explore the specialized equipment used to manage our community’s wastewater.
  • Guided Facility Tours: Tours will run every 30 minutes, providing insight into the cutting-edge processes and technology at work behind the scenes.
  • Meet the Team: Attendees can interact with Environmental Services staff to learn more about their operations and the division’s recent rebranding efforts.
  • Snacks & Refreshments: Complimentary snacks and drinks will be provided.

“This open house is more than just a tour; it’s an opportunity to connect with our community and showcase the vital work we do every day to protect waterways and improve quality of life in Kansas City, Kansas,” said Jeff Miles, Environmental Services Director.
