'Tis the season for farmers' markets with fresh food being grown and sold! The Kansas Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program provides coupons to help low-income seniors purchase fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh herbs and local honey at farmers markets.
Seniors must be at least 60 years of age or older and have a monthly income of less than $2,322. If you qualify, you will receive a booklet of 10 - $5 coupons for a one-time annual benefit of $50 to purchase eligible foods from authorized farmers.
Distribution begins Monday, June 3 and qualified applicants can apply in person at the Community Room located at 849 N 47th Street, Suite B, Kansas City, KS 66102. Walk-ins are welcome Monday-Thursday from 9AM-4PM and Fridays from 9AM-12PM.
