Two bridges on Holliday Drive—at 73rd Street and just east of 78th Street—are set for replacement starting April 22, 2024. This work is part of a project to handle more stormwater, reduce flooding, and make the road safer for everyone.

Starting a week before construction, signs will go up to warn drivers and residents. Holliday Drive will stay open during the project, but traffic will be down to one lane at each bridge site. Commuters will still be able to get through but expect delays. Mobile signals will guide the traffic flow.

The bridges will be made wider. This will help prevent accidents where cars run off the road and make it easier to add more lanes or bike paths in the future. The work should be finished by October 2024, weather allowing. The new bridges will make driving smoother and safer, and the bridges will be better at dealing with heavy rain.

Kansas Heavy Construction is the contractor for this $1.6 million project.
