Temporary closures on eastbound I-70 began today, Friday, December 5, at 9 AM in Kansas City, Kansas. The Kansas Department of Transportation is repairing a damaged bridge plate on the eastbound I-70 bridge over Kaw Drive.

Eastbound I-70 is reduced to one lane from 57th Street to 38th Street and the following ramps are fully closed:

  • Eastbound I-70 to 38th Street and Kaw Drive exit ramp
  • Northbound I-635 to eastbound I-70 ramp

Traffic is being managed with lane closures, ramp closures, message boards, signs, traffic cones, and barricades. All lanes and ramps will reopen once repairs are complete, depending on weather and field conditions. For current traffic information, visit KanDrive.gov or call 5-1-1.
