The entrance ramp from Fairfax Trafficway to eastbound I-70 will close for approximately eight weeks beginning Tuesday, December 6, weather permitting.

Closure is necessary for Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) maintenance crews to complete concrete patching work on the Fairfax Trafficway to eastbound I-70 bridge ramp. Southbound Fairfax Trafficway will have a single outside lane closed approaching the eastbound I-70 ramp. Traffic will be controlled using barricades, signs and delineators.

Motorists can access eastbound I-70 using the following route: from Fairfax Trafficway, turn left onto 3rd Street and turn right onto Armstrong Avenue, turn right on 4th Street, then turn right onto the eastbound I-70 entrance ramp.

Work will take place Monday through Friday, and Saturdays, as needed, from approximately 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The ramp is expected to be reopened in late January 2023. A message board is in place alerting motorists of work taking place.

KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas go to www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1. Drive safely and always wear your seat belt.
