We are excited to introduce a new way to join the Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department. We are offering more ways to explore a career with us, including launching quarterly testing for incoming recruits. We will be there to support you along the way as you consider this rewarding career!

Take 5 Simple Steps Toward a Great Career.

If you currently have your EMT or Paramedic license, you may be qualified to join our team. Take these simple steps to begin the journey:

STEP ONE: APPLY

Submit your application today at wycokck.org/careers. This will let us know you are interested and our public safety recruiter will reach out to you with more information.

STEP TWO: EXPLORE

Join us for one of two voluntary run-throughs of the physical ability test. This is a great way to preview one of the key requirements and we're offering two dates to check it out: January 12 or January 20, 2024. More details will be provided as your application is received/reviewed.

You can also join us for the upcoming Open House on Saturday, January 13 from 11AM-1PM at our brand-new Fire Station 16. Meet with current KCKFD team members, our recruitment team, and get a tour of this fantastic new facility. Free hotdogs and open to the public! More information here.

STEP THREE: TEST

Take the written and physical ability test with our team on January 24. You'll then have the opportunity to have a preliminary interview with our recruitment team.

STEP FOUR: WAIT

This may be the hardest step in the process but mark your calendars for decision day! On March 18, applicants will receive notification regarding the next KCKFD Academy class. Good luck!
