According to the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Kansas City, the first full reach or segment of levee raise is nearing completion between I-670 and the Hy-Vee Arena. Currently, the project team is finishing up utility connections & final earthwork. New concrete flood walls & levee raises are being constructed along areas of the three levee units, starting with foundations being drilled and poured.

Repairs and modifications to the seven (7) pump stations along the Armourdale Levee Unit continue. Crews recently completed improvements to the 5th St. & 12th St. pump stations and are currently working at the Shawnee Ave. pump station. We recently achieved a milestone - new pumps & motors for the new Argentine Main & Strong Ave. pump stations, located along the Argentine Levee Unit, were wet tested in late January 2023. The new pump stations are nearly complete and scheduled to be operational in this month.
