School districts invited to nominate students for tickets to several Dotte entertainment venues

Unified Government CEO/Mayor Tyrone A. Garner announced yesterday that he will be prioritizing youth across our community by providing free tickets to entertainment venues across Wyandotte County to young leaders nominated by their school districts. Traditionally, the Mayor’s Office has had free access to tickets to attend local sporting events, concerts, and other events but Mayor Garner would like to take these benefits to the community, with a particular focus on our youth.

“Our office is committed to doing what is in the best interest of our residents,” said Mayor Garner. “We continue to look for new ways to realize this commitment. We are excited to share these benefits with our local community and especially our youth.”

These tickets include, but are not limited to, events with Sporting KC, KC Monarchs, KC Current, Kansas Speedway, KC Roller Warriors, and the Azura Amphitheater (formerly known as Sandstone).

Mayor Garner invites the Wyandotte County school districts to identify students and student groups who are deserving of this opportunity and the Mayor's Office will provide tickets to events happening year-round.

The Mayor’s Office looks forward to this partnership with local educators to celebrate our youth and connect them to some of the greatest entertainment amenities in the region. Mayor Garner will continue to explore new and innovative ways to put county residents first in collaboration with Interim County Administrator Cheryl Harrison-Lee.
