This Thursday, during the Planning Commission meeting starting at 7PM, the Unified Government Commission will hear a presentation about several plans for adoption, including GoDotte, the Merriam Connected Corridor Plan, and the Northeast KCK Heritage Trail Plan.
goDotte is a first-ever Wyandotte Countywide Mobility Strategy that assembles every transportation related planning policy from Kansas City, Bonner Springs, Edwardsville and Lake Quivira into a single location for ease of use, coordination, and project delivery. And for KCK, it will serve as the transportation element for the upcoming Citywide Comprehensive Plan update. This interjurisdictional collaboration is exactly the type of effort that the new federal infrastructure bill prioritizes.

The Merriam Connected Corridor Plan aims to improve transportation connectivity and overall functionality along the corridor through smart land use and well-integrated transportation infrastructure that will complement and support the health of the surrounding environment. Further, the Plan seeks to provide safe and effective transportation options in coordination with opportunities for the regeneration of the corridor through targeted and community-supported development.

The NE KCK Heritage Trail Project includes the planning and conceptual design of a physical trail - bridging historic Kaw Point to the Quindaro Townsite and highlighting the rich culture and history of NE KCK along its route. goDotte includes both of the newest corridor studies by reference: this NE KCK Heritage Trail Plan as well as the Merriam Connected Corridor Plan.
