The Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas, will allow residential properties within the city limits of Kansas City, Kansas to conduct Residential Open Burning beginning on April 1st through April 30th. An application portal has been established on the Kansas City Kansas Fire Department’s website (kckfd.org) where residents may apply for a 3-day permit for open burn. Some restrictions on open burning are as follows:
In order to use the online application portal, the applicant must have a valid email address. A copy of the permit must be kept with the applicant during the open burn in hardcopy or on their mobile device.
Residents who do not have a valid email address may apply in person at any Kansas City Kansas Fire Station.
