The Unified Government’s Public Works Department is pleased to announce a street preservation project on State Avenue, between 29th and 38th Streets, beginning midway through the week of June 18, weather permitting.

State Avenue is a busy street that sees around 12,000 vehicles passing through each day. Public Works need to do some maintenance work to ensure it stays in great shape. During the project, State Avenue will remain open and accessible to traffic; however, motorists should expect some lane reductions.

Please remember to slow down, exercise caution, and keep your eye out for the safety of both you and the hard-working construction crews.

The street’s initial milling will take one or two days. Crews will then return about a week later to finish paving the street. The contractor for this $265,000 street preservation work is McAnany Construction.
