Published on May 01, 2025
Kansas City, KS – Wednesday, April 30, 2025, the UG Budget, Strategy, and Research Team hosted the 2025 "DotteTalk" community budget conversation. This year's DotteTalk also involved over 23 UG departments. Residents were able to engage with staff and elected officials to address questions and concerns regarding the 2026 budget process and priorities. The event was held at the Kansas City, Kansas Technical Education Center (KCKCC TEC) at 6565 State Avenue, KCK, KS 66104 from 6:00PM to 7:30PM.
With the theme of transparency, community and collaboration, the DotteTalk included table talks with department leaders about services and programs, and round table discussions with budget analysts to capture community questions, concerns and priorities. UG Budget Director Reginald Lindsey provided a detailed presentation on the financial status for both city and county services, including current spending, debt obligations and strategy, revenue, and various challenges currently being faced.
Residents that were unable to attend the 2025 DotteTalk are encouraged to tune in tonight, May 1, 2025, during the 7PM full commission meeting. Mr. Lindsey will provide the DotteTalk budget presentation to the commission. (Please see below for the complete DotteTalk presentation slides)
