UG Hires Lupe Valdovino as New Grants Financial Administrator

The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas (UG) is pleased to announce the hiring of Lupe Valdovino as Grants Financial Administrator.
Lupe Valdovino has over 27 years of experience working with non-profit agencies in various positions, from data analyst to grant accounting. Most of her experience has been working with federal and state grants, where she deepened her understanding of grant-related compliance and procedures.
Ms. Valdovino spent the last 17 years with Mid America Regional Council, primarily providing accounting and compliance support for the Early Learning/Head Start program, before making the transition to local government.
“I’m looking forward to collaborating with Unified Government departments on existing and future grants," said Valdovino. "I’m excited to be a part of the team to help make our community vibrant."
As Grants Financial Administrator, Ms. Valdovino will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and various UG Departments to provide guidance regarding seeking and receiving federal funding, compliance with local and federal regulations, and the development and implementation of grant policies and procedures.

Ms. Valdovino graduated from Johnson County Community College with an Associate of Science Degree in Accounting. She is also close to completion of her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Park University.
Lupe is an avid KC Chiefs and KU Jayhawks fan. She loves to travel and visit new cities while attending away games. One of her proudest memories includes the opportunity to attend Super Bowl LIV in Miami, creating an experience she will never forget.
