3rd Annual Career Expo to Highlight Range of UG Opportunities

Kansas City, KS – This Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 4-7PM, the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas (UG) will host the annual career expo at Memorial Hall at 600 N. 7th Street, KCK, KS 66101 for all positions.

From season and part-time jobs to full -time field work, administrative support, and professional services, interested community members and potential applicants can meet with representatives from UG departments to learn more about jobs, benefits, and the rewards of public service.

“Public Service is the cornerstone to empowering and shaping our community. Serving in the public sector has given me a deep sense of pride, knowing that the work I do every day positively impact the residents here in Wyandotte County/ KCK,” said County Administrator David Johnston. “I am excited for the Unified Government to offer our 3rd Annual Career expo to showcase the many great career opportunities on varied skill levels here at the UG. Our community is diverse and unique in our challenges, needs and opportunities. We need the best staff to help us take our community to the next level. I personally invite anyone looking for a great career with a great organization, in a great community to join us Thursday at the Career Expo.”

At the Career Expo, there will be onsite tech to allow attendees to review and apply for positions. On-site interviews with prospective managers and directors are a great way gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities while asking questions. Job seekers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.

“We are excited to reintroduce our community to the many careers we have here at the UG,” said Director of Human Resources Renee Ramirez. “Our goal is to reach talent across our community to join our team as future leaders here in Wyandotte County.”

Applicants coming to this year’s career expo are encouraged to bring copies of their resume, in addition to a photo ID or driver's license. The 2024 Career Expo will feature several resources for perspective applicants from the Unified Government and community partners, such as El Centro and Great Jobs KC that can help with career development and advancement. Light refreshments will be provided.
