Unified Government Commissioners voted to lift the COVID-19 mask mandate, which applied only to Kansas City, Kansas, and unincorporated portions of Wyandotte County, at a meeting on Thursday, December 16. The Commission’s 6-4 vote means the mask mandate ended as of 11:59 p.m. on December 16, 2021.
The Unified Government announced that Mayor Tyrone A. Garner added the vote as an agenda item to Thursday’s Commission meeting yesterday morning. Previously, the Commission had voted on November 30, 2021, to extend the mandate until January 6th.
