Vision Zero is a global movement aimed at eliminating traffic deaths and serious injuries while improving access to safe, reliable, and sustainable mobility for everyone.
In January 2025, the Unified Government launched a countywide Vision Zero Action Plan (VZAP) in partnership with Bonner Springs, Edwardsville, and Lake Quivira. Through extensive analysis of traffic data, crash reports, and community feedback, the VZAP will identify our most dangerous intersections and street segments and map out countermeasures that can achieve the goals of Vision Zero.
Upon adoption, Wyandotte County will become eligible for implementation funding through the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant program in 2026.
