UG to Host Homeowner Resource Fair

Helping Homeowners Find Cost Saving Solutions & Resources
Kansas City, KS –The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, KS (UG) is excited to host its first annual Homeowner Resource Fair on Monday, March 25 from 5PM to 8PM in the lobby and commission chambers of the Municipal Building (701 N. 7th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66101). Open to the public, homeowners from across Wyandotte County are encouraged to attend to learn more.
UG County Administration is hosting this event in collaboration with various city and county departments and community partners to provide attendees with information and resources on homeownership, from tax rebates and property appraisal appeals to home repair, fraud protection, safety, and digital connectivity.
At 6PM, the Office of the Appraiser will be hosting its final information session on the property valuation and appeal process in the Commission Chambers. With the appeal deadline of March 30, 2024, this will be a great opportunity to learn more about what to expect and what is required to file an appeal. Homeowners will also be able to apply on-site for our tax rebate programs for seniors and persons living with disabilities.
Other programs to be featured include: code enforcement, information about home-based businesses and short-term rentals, landlord and tenant education, garage sale permits, low-cost banking, services for caregivers and seniors, transportation services, safety initiatives such as the smoke detector program and community policing, and low-cost digital connectivity resources, among many others.
Getting to the Municipal Building
The Municipal Building is located at 701 N 7th Street and is accessible via free public transit and within walking distance from the 7th and Minnesota transit center. Look-up available busses and schedules online. Free parking is available in the lots around the Municipal Building (Parking Lot E – Upper behind the Municipal Building and Parking Lot 3 at 6th and Barnett) and on-street. RideKC Bike is also available from Rosedale to the Municipal Building station.
