The Office of the Area Agency on Aging is responsible for planning, coordinating, funding and advocating for programs and services which meet the needs of Wyandotte and Leavenworth County residents.

As a result of Medicaid Managed Care, also known as KanCare becoming effective January 1, 2013, the Area Agency on Aging became a statewide Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC).  Kansas’ ADRCs includes a call center and 11 walk-in centers effective November 1, 2012, with the Wyandotte/Leavenworth Area Agency on Aging office being one of the eleven ADRC walk-in centers.

ADRC’s provide unbiased, reliable information and counseling to individuals of all ages with all levels of income. The ADRC’s are a visible and trusted place where people can turn for Information, Options Counseling and Assessments. The eleven ADRC’s collectively cover all 105 counties in Kansas.
