Economic Development Advisor & Business Liaison

LaVert MurrayLaVert Murray will serve as the Economic Development Advisor and Business Liaison. Mr. Murray holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kansas. Returning from retirement and before 2009, Mr. Murray was involved in every major development occurring in the city for the last 35 years. His major efforts include developing the Fairfax Industrial Park, establishing River City USA, lead staff negotiator on the Kansas Speedway project, and expanding several developments on the eastern end of town, including Associated Wholesale Grocers in the Turner Morris-Kansas Avenue area, and coordinating the Prescott Plaza Development. Mr. Murry worked to establish the Happy Foods North project and feels a great sense of purpose and pride in the power of small developments within neighborhoods.
