UG to Celebrate over $2.1 Million in Park Improvements Published on August 19, 2024 Next Friday, August 23, the Unified Government of WyCo and KCK (UG) Parks & Recreation Department will host a ribbon-cutting tour at three of its parks. This event will celebrate the investment of more than $2.1 million in improvements funded through the (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The UG will also kick off a new awareness campaign called Enjoy, Don't Destroy. Mayor Garner and Commissioners Honor Community with Dotte Proud Cards Published on July 12, 2024 During the July 11, 2024, full commission meeting, Mayor Tyrone Garner and Chief of Staff Irene Caudillo presented the community with a new initiative called "Dotte Proud" Cards. Dotte Proud Cards gives Mayor Garner and all UG Commissioners the opportunity to present community members with a card that recognizes them for their service and hard work throughout the community. AARP Awards $15K to the UG as Part of Nationwide Program Published on June 26, 2024 Today, AARP announced that the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, KS (UG) has received a 2024 Community Challenge grant as part of the largest group of grantees to date with $3.8 million awarded among 343 organizations nationwide.
